World Wide Perspective: Consciously Choosing a Positive Self Image versus Holding onto an Old Negative Self Image
If our human system has been negatively impacted by abuse, neglect, humiliation or made to feel worthless, tainted, undervalued, discounted or dismissed, for example, we can accidentally form a negative self image that we continue to carry around in our subconscious or unconscious layer of our personality or sense of self. We do not mean to carry it there, express it towards others, act it out as if that is who we are but, if we don't know it is there, that negative self image can behave as if it is itself, going unchecked by our Truer Self, who knows that is actually a false self.
As human beings, we have many abilities, resources, techniques and talents to cover up, distract and overcome through sheer will power, hidden emotional, mental, intellectual, psychological and even spiritual pain that we may have stuffed away, perhaps as far back as childhood! We can become experts at coping, surviving and even fooling ourselves.
As we become more and more conscious, we begin to realize we can, in fact, choose to be aware of our most positive self images that can, with conscious effort, overcome the old hidden negative ideas of ourselves. Choosing to become our more positive ideas of ourselves seems to be obvious. Of course, we would then feel better, have more positive energy for life but we would also be more conscious and aware of others in our lives who are still acting out their own negative self images. It is like waking up from eating too much sugar for many, many years, only to realize it is time to cut that habit out, it might be depleting you of better health and energy. As we test those theories, we begin to see that the old pattern to our thinking or coping was simply that and now, in this current moment, we can see who we are without the dependency on the old behavior choices that may have supported our negative self images before.
This is an empowering moment. We can lift ourselves up and out of a set of old choices that may have been allowing our old negative self images to run our human system. To become familiar with our own negative self images, or our shadow, as Carl Jung describes, we might need to 'stand back' and observe it sometime when we are out with people and as we come home. Are we judging others, are we comparing ourselves with the other people and are we coming up short or are they? Are we angry, hurt, emotional or triggered because we didn't get enough attention or credit or applause? This could easily be the reaction of our old negative self image. Instead of engaging it, we could also just stand in the middle of our dwelling and say,'I am glad I was there. I am glad I spent time with the other people and I am ok and they are all ok and it is now over'. Allow in, invite in your positive self image now and feel all the positive energy you can to fill you and your human system as full as it can be. Feel like you are literally flushing out the old negativity, from all sides; towards you, towards them and from them. Know that you are consciously, actively filling with more positive energy because you are choosing to do that!
Old stuck and stale, dried up negative self images can feel heavy, weighty, uncomfortable, dark and dull. Positive self images are lighter, brighter, more contented and much more comfortable to walk around in. In terms of our health and fitness, a more positive self image will only enhance our own health and well being. Our human system will move through life with a happier, healthier and lighter overall purpose. Our muscles will relax, our voice will be happier and fuller, our hearts will feel lighter and our overall mood towards ourselves and our world and others will naturally improve. Better feelings regarding our past will also surface the more conscious we are about choosing our positive self images.
Maybe we can't fully erase what may have affected us, effected us, infected us or impacted us completely but we can change how we want to see ourselves now. We can change it from the inside out and remain conscious of our choice to walk and talk with our most positive self images intact and KNOW THIS IS GOOD!! IT IS YOUR HIGHER TRUTH, HIGHER LOVE AND HIGHER ENERGY IN LIFE!! LET YOUR SELF AND SYSTEM KNOW, YOU ARE TRULY LOVE ITSELF!!
