"Be soft. Do not let the world . . .

. . . make you hard.  Do not let pain make you hate.  Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.  Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."  Kurt Vonnegut

Softness has long been perceived as a weakness.  Yet, softness as an energy is useful and necessary in healing, in the ability to bring balance and harmony and it is a much needed energy for peace.  A soft breeze carries seeds to where they can open and blossom, a soft fire warms our hearts and souls and soft flowing water eases our worries and lulls us to sleep.  Sweetness, beauty and gentleness are aspects of life that smooth out all things hard, guiding the most rigid aspects in life to places of harmonious flexibility through principles of gentle fluidity.
